CelPlan Technologies, a leading consulting firm in the transportation sector, has been chosen by the Brazilian National Association of Passenger Rail Operators (ANPTrilhos) to spearhead a critical technical assistance project funded by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). This initiative aims to develop enterprise asset management (EAM) plans for Brazil’s passenger rail operators, marking a significant step towards optimizing maintenance processes and reducing operational costs.
The project, which comes at a crucial time when the pandemic has underscored the need for more efficient planning in the transportation sector, will focus on creating strategic EAM implementation plans for six ANPTrilhos member companies. CelPlan Technologies, collaborating with Systra Brazil and Sinapsis, will leverage its expertise to assess infrastructure, rolling stock, equipment, and systems, as well as define asset management goals, policies, and governance structures.

A key aspect of the project will be the evaluation of technologies that can analyze data in real-time across entire passenger rail systems, helping to predict and prevent failures before they occur. This proactive approach is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs for Brazilian rail operators.
The outcome of this technical assistance is anticipated to have far-reaching implications, as the developed plans could potentially be replicated for all 13 ANPTrilhos passenger rail operators. This scalability underscores the project’s potential to transform asset management practices across Brazil’s entire passenger rail sector.
