CelPlan Technologies Selected to Lead USTDA-Funded Technical Assistance for Brazilian Passenger Rail Asset Management

4/14/2022 –

CelPlan Technologies, a leading consulting firm in the transportation sector, has been chosen by the Brazilian National Association of Passenger Rail Operators (ANPTrilhos) to spearhead a critical technical assistance project funded by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). This initiative aims to develop enterprise asset management (EAM) plans for Brazil’s passenger rail operators, marking a significant step towards optimizing maintenance processes and reducing operational costs.

The project, which comes at a crucial time when the pandemic has underscored the need for more efficient planning in the transportation sector, will focus on creating strategic EAM implementation plans for six ANPTrilhos member companies. CelPlan Technologies, collaborating with Systra Brazil and Sinapsis, will leverage its expertise to assess infrastructure, rolling stock, equipment, and systems, as well as define asset management goals, policies, and governance structures.

Leonhard Korowajczuk, CEO of CelPlan Technologies, stated, “We are honored to have been selected for this important project. Our team is committed to delivering innovative solutions that will help Brazilian passenger rail operators enhance their decision-making processes and optimize their asset management strategies.”

The technical assistance will involve a comprehensive review of existing operational and maintenance efficiency studies, safety reports, and asset management documentation for all ANPTrilhos member companies. CelPlan will then develop recommendations for EAM solutions and supplementary ICT technologies, design guidelines, and industry best practices in asset management.

A key aspect of the project will be the evaluation of technologies that can analyze data in real-time across entire passenger rail systems, helping to predict and prevent failures before they occur. This proactive approach is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs for Brazilian rail operators.

The outcome of this technical assistance is anticipated to have far-reaching implications, as the developed plans could potentially be replicated for all 13 ANPTrilhos passenger rail operators. This scalability underscores the project’s potential to transform asset management practices across Brazil’s entire passenger rail sector.

CelPlan Technologies’ selection for this project reinforces its position as a trusted partner in transportation infrastructure development and highlights the company’s commitment to fostering international cooperation in the pursuit of more efficient and sustainable public transportation systems.
